Topic 1: My hometown
1- I am going to photograph salem because that is where I have lived most of the time that I have lived in Oregon, and its where I live now.
2- the portrait subject that I wanted to do was of the jeweler that I go to at vernon Jewelers . The landmark could either be the carousel or the Union street bridge, or the capitol. The activity I could do is people doing stuff in riverfront park, or Bush park. People always like to go there to feed the squirrels (if the weather allows).
3- the portrait would be a challenge for me. Just being able to get access to see the jeweler in his work environment. I have met the owner before and he seems really nice so hopefully it won't be too much trouble.

Topic 2: Photo Story Ideas
1- I could shoot a construction project, because there are many going on in salem, but getting access would be very difficult. i could just document the workers progress in building the building.
I could also go to an animal rescue and document the people that work there. I have volunteered with Green Acres Farm Sanctuary before, so I know people there. I could take photos of what it is like doing their job.

Topic 1- possible portrait subjects Melissia Willhoite She owns and runs 2 child daycares. She is passionate about kids. She has 4 of her own and loves being around them. The best environment to photograph her in would be in her daycare. Some props could be toys on the ground and in the background, or an actual kid. She does daycare for my cousins kid, so I could get her number from her, or I could just get it from online and give her a call. Another person I could take photos of could be one of the chefs that are going to be at the vegan festival I am going to this weekend. I don't have any information on them, but I could meet with them in person and schedule a time to meet with them and take pictures in their own kitchen. Topic 2- 1) The best photo that I have taken so far, in my opinion, is the close up photo in week one. Topic 1: My best photojournalism 1) the best photo i've taken this term: 2) This photo stood out to me because I framed the 2 girls faces on the left with the fence, and you can see their expressions really well. It also has nice colors and is focused well.  3) This reflects what I learned because I learned that it was important to have faces in the picture and to capture expressions.  4) My photo skills have improved because now I feel a lot more comfortable with taking pictures of people. Like in the beginning of the term, when I took my first photo for this class, it took me like 20 minutes to work up the courage to go up to a stranger and take their photo.
